Utah County Fair Performance

Dynamic Dance Competition Hip- Hop Team
Dancers and Parents,
We have been invited to perform at the Utah County Fair in Spanish Fork Thursday Aug. 13th at 2:30. I know that I’m closing the studio and we’re done; but I’m so excited to be able to be with you and have one last performance!!!!!! I think that it will be fun (I’m sure I’ll cry my eyes out the entire time!) But it will be so fun to have you together one last time!
On Thursday after we perform you will have a few hours to hang out at the fair if you want or take a break and we will be meeting at the studio at 7:00 for our official last competition team sleep over. We’ll play our traditional games, be goofs and say our goodbyes :o( I know that this is short notice but I hope that you can all be there!
If you’re planning on performing we will need to have a practice before hand to refresh our memories and to fix any position situations. So please meet at the studio on Friday Aug. 7th at 9:30 to 11:00 and if needed we’ll schedule an additional practice before the performance. Call me, text or email me with any questions! Parents and Dancers,
This is by far one of the, if not the most difficult decisions that I have ever had to make and I’m so incredibly saddened by the situation. I unfortunately am going to be closing the studio. I have run into an impossible situation with our current location and the unfortunate state of our economy.
Mapleton City is planning on building a new public safety building right where our existing building is located. We have known about the possibility of this for sometime but have been hopeful and were under the impression that the project would be delayed due to financial reasons for a little while longer. I was just recently informed that Mapleton City was going to be going ahead with their building plans and have had to make this decision last minute. I’m sorry about the inconvenience and late/short notice of this; it was not my intention!
On my exhausting hunt for a new location I’ve run into some unfortunate situations. I cannot find a space that I feel comfortable with; weather it is the actual size and condition of the space and/or the safety and accessibility of the location. Also price; I cannot find a space that is affordable and I can’t afford to increase my over head right now L Not to mention that I am missing out on a “normal” family life and I’m watching my daughter grow up way too fast and missing most of it. It so far has been justified because I was working to provide a better life for her, now I am faced with working 40 to 50 hours a week for free and potentially paying to do so.L
I hope that you will all understand that this is something I don’t want to do but feel like I have to do. I feel that while it may be a painful decision it is ultimately the best decision for my family and our well being. I have loved my job and cannot express to you how grateful I am for the last 10 years and what wonderful people have been a part of my life because of it! Dance is my passion and it will always be; I just don’t think it’s something I can make a living at right now. On the up-side there is always the possibility that things could change and in a few years I can re-open? I am still planning on participating in the Stadium of Fire each year if anyone is interested in still doing it with me? I’ll be sending out information as soon as I receive it. I will still be at Springville High coaching the Drill Team so I hope I will see you at games, events and Jr. D’velles. Please stay in touch and keep dancing! I love you all more than words can express and I will miss you everyday! Thank you for being a part of the Dynamic Dance Family I hope that you have had a good experience!

RECITAL:

The recital is WEDNESDAY, MAY 20TH. Dancers need to be at Springville High, in the Little Theater at 6:00 pm. The recital starts at 6:30 and should be about two hours long. There is no saving seats, so make sure you get there in plenty of time. The front row will be for video cameras. The 3 & 4 year olds need to be in tap shoes first and then change into ballet shoes. All other dancers need to be in their costumes with jazz or ballet shoes. Make sure you have all of your costumes if you are on a competition team.

Spring Showcase!

Starz swimming party

The annual Christmas party was a blast. We decorated gingerbread houses and had an amazing dance off. It was great just to be girls and have fun together.

Christmas Party!!!!

The annual dance Christmas is this Thursday the 18th, from 4:30-6:30 at the studio. Make sure you bring a 5$ gift for a gift exchange. Come prepared to drive your teachers crazy, and most of all to have fun! Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas, and we will see you next year!

COMPETIONS...

It is so much fun to watch the girls get better and better with each competition they attend. It is also such an exciting atmosphere, especially when they announce the winners in each category. Competitions are a great way for each girl to build up their self esteem and gain the confidence it takes to be a great performer, and the trophies aren't bad either.

SALT LAKE HERE WE COME....

The Hip Hop one class was invited up to Salt Lake, to perform at the opening for "Happy Valley". The girls were able to perform on a huge stage with giant screens on both sides. It was so fun! The company put all of us up in nice hotel rooms, were the girls were able to swim and have fun getting to know each other. They also paid for us to attend the Discovery museum and go to lunch. What an awesome experience!

STADIUM OF FIRE

Practice after practice in the blazing heat, but oh what a treat! All of the hard work pays off when the fourth finally arrives and the crowd gets to see how amazing the girls are. It is so amazing to see hundreds of girls perform together and all in perfect sync. An added bonus this year... Mylie Cyrus. The Stadium of Fire is a great way to see what you are made of.

The sleep over will be on Friday October 3, at the studio, from 8 PM to 8 AM. Come have a great time getting to know one another. Make sure you bring your sleeping gear, PJS, and assigned treat. Hope to see you all there!
